Alberto Chavira, MD, FACC, attended the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, and received his medical degree in 1972. Then, he served his internship at the University of New Mexico Hospital in Albuquerque, NM. Furthermore, he conducted his internal medicine residency at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso in El Paso, TX. In addition, he completed his fellowship training in cardiology at Kaiser Sunset Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. Dr. Chavira received board certification in internal medicine and cardiology from the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC) and member of the San Diego County Medical Society. He feels that his success is attributable primarily to reading every day and working hard to provide the best care he can for his patients. Dr. Chavira dedicates his spare time to spending time with his family, reading, cycling, swimming, and working out at the gym as often as possible.
